OUR CLASSES

We offer Performing Arts classes to children of all ages and abilities and endeavour to provide a safe and positive environment for our students so that they can reach their full potential, have fun and make new friends. All our teachers are CRB checked and there is a First Aider on site.

Our pre-school children follow the Melody Movement® Early Learning syllabi which build strong foundations in dance and movement following the adventures of Melody Bear®.

Junior and Senior students are offered a variety of performing arts classes which aim to produce well-rounded and versatile performers.

Our ballet and modern theatre classes follow the Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabi and the students have the opportunity to take the graded examinations. The Theatre classes enable them to develop their performance skills and take part in regular presentations to parents and other events throughout the year.

BALLET 
Ballet is the foundation on which all other forms of dance are based. Students learn good technique, co-ordination, posture, strength and discipline as well as increasing their flexibility and body awareness.

MODERN THEATRE DANCE
Students follow the ISTD Modern Theatre syllabus which combines varying dance styles including modern dance, lyrical, contemporary and jazz and encourages the pupil to dance with feeling.  

JAZZ
There are many different forms of jazz including street, commercial and pop jazz. This is a highly energetic form of dance which allows the dancer freedom to express themselves. All our classes incorporate a warm-up and body conditioning section which prepares them for the fast paced routines that follow. We use a selection of jazz styles within our classes.

MUSICAL THEATRE 
Students will learn to perform songs and dances from a variety of musical shows and films and perform them to parents in shows and presentations.

TAP DANCE
Our freestyle Tap Dance classes work on technique and creative dance sequences and use a variety of tap styles.

DRAMA 
Drama lessons concentrate on exploring a wide range of themes using various techniques which include improvisation, voice work, role play, sketches, script work and drama games. These skills encourage the student to creatively express themselves both working on their own and as part of a team in group work and aim to build the student's confidence and creative skills.
